Linda Shevloff is a certified Senior Intermediate Iyengar Yoga teacher who opened and directs the Iyengar Yoga Centre of Hong Kong. She runs a teacher training program here and also regularly teaches classes.
Linda is an assessor of teachers seeking to be Iyengar certified in the both Canada and in South East Asia. In her past she was a high school teacher in Canada and later Hong Kong.
George Dovas
is certified at the Intermediate Junior I level. He has been teaching yoga at the Iyengar Centre here for many years.
He teaches a Level II asana class on Saturday afternoon, and also conducts discussions about yoga philosophy in
the Yoga Sutras class on Saturdays.
In his other working life, George is a well known fitness instructor in this city.
Ursula Moser is preparing for a second Iyengar certificate at the Intermediate Junior I level. She teaches classes with us on Monday mornings and lunch times. She also teaches in other venues throughout the city.
Ursula, also known as Uschi, is from Switzerland originally, but she has spent a large part of her life in Asian cities. She teaches in English or German.
Jesse Tong is a certified Iyengar Yoga teacher who has practiced yoga for many years. She teaches mainly on the Kowloon side but from time to time she teaches at The Iyengar Yoga Centre in Sheung Wan.
Jesse is originally from Malaysia, and besides Malay and English, she speaks Cantonese.
Lydia Tsang has completed three years of the Iyengar Yoga Teacher training program and is preparing to be assessed for certification soon. She teaches a beginners class one evening a week at the Centre.
During the day she works in an investment bank where she spends a lot of time on a computer. She finds that yoga provides a good balance not only to her neck and shoulder but also her life. Lydia is a Hong Kong native, and teaches in English or in Cantonese.
Kitty Leung has completed three years in the Iyengar Yoga teaching program and she is also getting ready for assessment. She has recently left her office job for a life as a full time yoga teacher. Besides her Thursday lunchtime class at our Yoga Centre, she is teaching in a number of other venues in the city.
Kitty is a Hong Kong native and teaches in English or in Cantonese.
Andrew Horner is in his third year of teacher training at The Iyengar Yoga Centre. He is often helping out in the early Sunday morning class, sometimes as a teacher and
sometimes as an assistant.
Andrew is also a professor at HKUST, in the field of IT and Music.
Ushie Tuck is in her third year of teacher training at The Iyengar Yoga Centre. She teaches a one hour beginners class on Tuesday afternoons and she also assists in the pregnancy classes.
Ushie is the mother of two active teenage girls who keep her pretty busy. In her earlier working life, Ushie was a registered nurse. She speaks French, English and some German.
Kitty Wong is in her third year of teacher training at The Iyengar Centre. She now teaches the Level I/II class on Saturday mornings at 10:00am.
Kitty is the mother of two boys and the elder son is studying in the HKU. Kitty also works in administration for a big European fashion retailer. She is a local Hong Kong resident who is fluent in Cantonese and English.
Theresa Wenk is also in her third year of teacher training at The Iyengar Yoga Centre of Hong Kong. Originally from Switzerland, she can speak English and German fluently. Theresa has spent most of her adult life in Asia, and has studied yoga both in Taiwan and in Hong Kong. She has two young
adult sons.
Theresa is assisting in the Yoga for Walkers and Runners series, she also teaches in the Level I and II classes from time to time.
Olivia Tang is in her third year of Iyengar teacher training at our Centre. She is teaching a new beginners class on Sundays from 11:30 - 1:00pm.
During the week, Olivia works in a US based Apparel Company. She has worked many years in Technical Engineering in the garment industry. Olivia is from Hong Kong and she speaks English and Cantonese.
Caroline Roy is in her third year of teacher training at The Iyengar Yoga Centre of Hong Kong. She is teaching a new beginners class and a Level II class on Friday mornings.
Caroline is a busy mom with two young girls, but in the past she was involved in coaching individuals to reach their goals in life. Caroline is from Germany and speaks English and German.
Helena Chiu is in her second year of teacher training at The Iyengar Yoga Centre. She has practiced yoga for many years and within the past few years she has switched to Iyengar Yoga. She will be helping out in the Level I beginners class on Tuesdays at 12:00.
Helena grew up in Canada, but speaks Cantonese fluently. She has a background in graphic arts and sometimes is found working in art galleries in the city.
