Iyengar Yoga with John Leebold

John Leebold is the founding teacher of the Western Australian School of Yoga. He holds an Advanced Certificate from BKS Iyengar. John is also a Registered Osteopath who runs an Osteopathic Clinic in Perth and Fremantle. He is interested in the therapeutic approaches of manual therapy of osteopathy and also the psycho/ spiritual and physiological approach of asana and pranayama in relation to the traditional yoga treatise of Patanjali Classical Yogas.
John runs regular workshops throughout Australia, New Zealand and the USA, and he has taught in the Iyengar Institute in London, England. For the last ten years, John has led annual residential retreats to Bali, Indonesia, where he occasionally pursues his interest of surfboard riding in the tropical aquatics.

The knee is an area of the body that is vulnerable to injury and general wear and tear. It is the most commonly injured joint in the body and is prone to arthritic problems that can come with age. It is important to take good care of our knees so they can continue to support us throughout life.
In this workshop, we will discuss some typical knee problems and learn some yoga solutions to remedy them. BKS Iyengar has offered many poses to strengthen and support the knee joint.

This anatomy workshop is taught in aid of the Hong Kong Federation of Women's Centres, a charity which lends support to disadvantaged women in Hong Kong.

The Iyengar Yoga Centre of Hong Kong is holding a class designed to help yoga students gain an understanding of basic anatomy so they can improve their asana practice - and move better in their daily lives too.
Angela Tam, a certified personal trainer, will take participants through the basics with a fun combination of illustrations, movements and visualizations. This will be followed by practical application of the new knowledge on the mat, with a yoga session taught by Linda Shevloff.
Angela, a practitioner of Iyengar yoga, is a trigger point therapist who loves to uncover those painful knots that tie up muscles and inhibit our movements - when she is not busy writing about or researching sustainability issues.

Evolution: Asia Yoga Conference opens registration
Evolution, Asia's largest yoga conference, to raise awareness of yoga and give students worldwide the
opportunity to learn directly from the best international yoga masters. From

In February, we're starting a regular Sunday workshop with new topics being covered each week or session. Iyengar teachers will take turns leading the yoga classes.
To begin, George Dovas will do a three week Introductory Yoga workshop for those with no yoga experience. Sessions will run Sunday, February 12, 19 and 26, 4:00-5:30 p.m.
